Courses and Campuses

Hua Xia Mandarin Program was established in 2003. We partner with UAA/UCS and expended operation into multiple campuses in Surrey and Langley in 2013.

UAA/UCS offers Mandarin courses from K，level 1 to 12 (ages 5 to adult). All students will be assessed and assigned to appropriate classes. The School also offers challenge examination tutorials, PIN YIN and Adult Conversation classes. Staffing with experienced and qualified teachers, we choose textbooks written specifically for students use Chinese as a second language in accordance to the British Columbia School Board curriculum. We teach simplified Chinese Characters and use Traditional Chinese Characters for reference purposes only.

There are five (5) campuses in total. The main schools are in Surrey and Langley open on Saturday. The other four (4) campuses are located in Langley City, Fraser Heights and White Rock/South Surrey.  They open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

环球中文学校的老师都富有丰富的教学经验和爱心。本校使用由国务院侨办提供，暨南大学为海外华人子弟编写的《中文》，使用汉语拼音及采用简体教学为主（简繁体对照为辅），使在加拿大出生的学生易于学习。本校招收五岁以上从幼儿园至十二年级的学生，按照个人程度分班。同時開辦成人口語課程。

共五个学校，总校Fleetwood在素里市，每週六上下午開課。另四所分校分别位于Cloverdale，白石南素里，台湾村和兰里，分别每週二、週三及週四上课。

Open position: Mandarin Teachers (Grades K-12)

UAA-UCS is currently seeking Elementary and Secondary Mandarin Immersion teachers (Grades K-12). Candidates must have a strong desire to develop the Chinese Mandarin language skills of our young learners. Opportunities are available to collaborate with other Mandarin language teachers and work within the program to ensure quality education reach to our students.

Teachers who share the core value of UAA believes would play important role of Students Mandarin learn experience. Our students need encouragement and supports to achieve a high level of proficiency with dedicated teachers and staffs.

Qualified and successful applicants will be offered a part-time based teaching career at Universal Advance Academy.

• Canadian residency and be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Be committed to their own learning and professional development.
• An appropriate academic background and preparation for teaching Mandarin, with excellent command of the language, both oral & written in Mandarin and English
• Experience working with a diverse range of language learners
• Flexibility, open-mindedness, and a willingness to work with initiative
• A warm, caring professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
• Endorse the school’s mission and vision statement.

“Nice to have” Skills:

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate is preferred.
• Experience teaching in a technology-rich environment would be an asset.
• Given the location of the schools, applicants must provide their own transportation.

School Calendars

Our school year generally runs from early September to mid or late June of the following year. We operate a two-term school year.
Autumn term runs from early September to mid January (half term falls in late October). Spring Term runs from early January to mid June (half term falls in early April). At the end of each half term, in October, April, there is a mid-term exam for all grades exception may apply.

The summer holiday begins in mid Jun. In the month of July and August, we offers youth Summer Camp in China and immerse yourself in Chinese language and culture, whilst making new friends from all over the world. Under the supervision of our staff, students will improve their Mandarin, take part in cultural activities, and explore various places a safe environment.

我们学年一般为9月初至次年6月中下旬。本校实行两学期制。
秋季从9月初到1月中旬。春季从1月初到6月中旬。在 10 月和4 月，设有期中考试。

暑假从6月中旬开始。在7月和8月，我们在中国举办青年夏令营，让您沉浸在中国语言和文化中，结交来自世界各地的新朋友。在我们员工的督查下，学生将提高他们的普通话水平，参加文化活动，并在一个安全的环境里探索有趣的地方。
